Job Magagula started Martial art in 1984 in the Village of South Africa, then it was called Eastern Transvaal and now Ehlandzeni Region. My late brother Sandile Magagula Introduced me to a Wadoryu karate club which was run by the late Elmon Khoza the student of the 1976 South African Champion Simon Titus Jele. We were training in the Tin House ,during the day the Tin house was the School Class room and in the evening it was a Wado Ryu karate Dojo. There was no Electricity in the Village and we were using the candles.
In 1987 Khoza introduced me to his Teacher Simon Titus Jele. First time I saw Jele he was unique and have power and he accepted me.
I train under Simon Jele until I became 1st degree of Wado Ryu Karate in 1992. Jele competed in the 1976 Kyokushin Karate which was hosted by Shihon Dojo, that time he was a green belt who competed with the Kyokushinkai karate legends like Big Boy Shangase and Bongani Hlatswayo .My teacher told me that he competed with the Kyokushinkai giants, Giants who were jumping cars and breaking breaks. He was a 2nd runner of the 1976 and his picture is found on the Shihon Dragon Magazine. I train with my teacher on the mountains and we slepts in caves. My teacher stayed in the mountain for two years sleeping inside a cave make martial art a way of life.
I left Wado Ryu karate in 1998 to join Shihan Imtiaz Abdulla and study Shitoryu karate, Okinawan Gojuryu and kobudo,every month I will travel to Johannesburg and stay a week and study karate in Shihan Abdulla Honbu dojo and I was trained by Shihan Himself and his top students Donald Hlatshwayo, Bonny Motsa and Ismeal Makaringa and Shihan visited my Dojo in lydenburg in 1999. in 1999 I was elected as a Chairman of lowveld all karate Styles and in Cape Town Athlone I was elected as an additional member of Karate Association of South Africa transformation Commission. I joined South African Kyokushin Karate Organization Sako ,I was trained by Shihan Richard kele and kele who was a 5th degree black belt grade me a 2nd degree black belt in Kyokushin karate and appoint me to be a Chief Instructor in Lowveld region. Kele will travel from Port Elizabeth to Lydenburg and we will train from Friday until Sunday Cross night and he will go back to Port Elizabeth. He was a dedicated karate man.
In 2002 I joined Jidokwan Taekwondo under Master Peter Botha who was a 4th degree black belt and I became his assistant Instructor. When botha was not around I will take his class some white students will leave the class they didn’t want to be trained by a Black man and who didn’t like racism loved me and trained under me.
Botha left Nelspruit to Ireland and left the club to me.
He left the contact of his teachers who were Koreans Master Chee and Cho.
I trained under Master Chung who was a 6th degree black belt then and a National Coach .
Every year the President of WTF Taekwondo in South Africa then Mr Godfrey Mokoboto will organized Master from Kukkiwon to train us 8 hours a day ,a week.
I left WTF Taekwondo and I joined Taekwondo International in in 2011 under Master johan Nel who was a President of TISA and I was promoted to 4th degree back belt in 2012 and in 2013 I was part of the National team that went to England, I was a assistance Coach and a competitor I became a world bronze Medalist. While I was in England, I visited a Wadoryu karate Dojo in Kingstone Hull England and train with a Wado Ryu Karate Sensei Peter Beacock who was teaching in Hull and Beverly. Sensei Peter also trained under original Otsuka students like Shingo Oghami, Hadeko Takagi and sakakami. I have received a warm welcome in Hull and I gave Taekwondo demonstration in Life Zone. In places like Beverly children were so shock to see an African life, Sensei Peter says they use to see Africans stars on TV. In the world Championship I meet the Taekwondo International Grand Masters, I meet Grand Master Dave Oliver President of Taekwondo International and TAGB and Grand Master Paul Donnely who was the part of ITF team that went to North korea and introduce Taekwondo with General Choi Yong Hi and I meet one of the original Taekwondo Pioneer Grand Master CK Choi the first Taekwondo champion in 1961 and 1962. The man who work with TAGB Taekwondo International and he hasn’t change from the original path of Taekwondo and we haven’t change from the original path of Taekwondo.
When I come back home, I receive a Heroic welcome in Kruger International Airport and I was sponsored by Mpumalanga Economic regulatory. I dedicated my self in spreading Taekwondo international and I attracted National Newspaper and Local and I was given a chance to write martial art wisdom in Ziwaphi newspaper and I was profiled in the International Marila art Magazine like American Martial art Masters Magazine and American Iron Dragon Magazine.
I was awarded a 5th degree black belt by the American Iron Dragon Magazine within the American Temple Union. I was promoted to 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo International by Grand Master Dave Oliver 2019 and I was awarded by Master Warren Vice a 7th degree black belt of TAGB and Taekwondo International, Vice was in the South Africa City of Mbombela to conduct a Sparring Seminar and Vice is a 22 times Taekwondo world champion and several times European champion. Vice also visited South Africa in 2022.
With the assistant of my Senior Instructors like Sabunim Conwel Mkhonto and Sabunim Lesang Dingalo Taekwondo International its growing in that part of the world and we are loyal to Taekwondo International and TAGB.
We follow the syllabus of Taekwondo International and TAGB and we haven’t change from the original path of Tae-Kwon-Do.
