Conwell Mkhonto started Kyokushin karate in 1996 in Thulamashi Bushbuckridge from there he did never quiet. He attended a Kyokushin Gashku in Polokwane which was conducted by the late Sensei Ezrom Mogane and graded a Red belt in Kyokushin karate.
In 2004 Mkhonto attended a JKA karate championship in Witbank were Mkhonto won Silver Medal in Kata and kumite. In 2009 Mkhonto join South African Police Service and join Shotokan Karate and was grade a purple belt in Shotokan karate.
In 2010, Mkhonto joined Taekwondo International under Master Job Magagula and the same year Mkhonto won a gold medal in South African Police National championship which was in Sabie, Near Nelspruit, Mpumalanga Province. Mkhonto won 2 silvers in Continues and point stop sparring during Taekwondo International National championship in Pretoria. In 2011 Mkhonto won two Gold Medals and one Bronze in South African Police National championship in Kwa Zulu Natal. In 2012 Mkhonto won a bronze Medal and Silver in Taekwondo international championship in Tshwane In 2013 Mkhonto won a two gold Medal in the South African Police Martial art championship in Port Elizabeth. In 2012 Mkhonto won two Silver Medals in Cape town South African Police Martial art championship. Mkhonto was graded a red/belt of Taekwondo international by Master Job Magagula. Mkhonto grade his 1st degree black belt in 2023 under the Vigilant eye of Master Job Magagula in 2015 Magagula graded Mkhonto a 2nd degree Black belt of Taekwondo International. In 2017 Magagula graded Mkhonto a 3rd degree black belt of Taekwondo International and that time Mkhonto was an assistant instructor at Magagula Dojang in Nelspruit. Mkhonto relocated back home in Bushbuckridge were Mkhonto open a club and produce best fighters. In 2021 Mkhonto was graded a 4th degree black belt of Taekwondo international by Master Warren Vice, a 7th degree back belt of TAGB Taekwondo International from Liverpool England. Vice is the 22 times Taekwondo World champion, Multiple times European champion and one of the TAGB Taekwondo best fighter.
